Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — It’s only February, but Wilmington Downtown Incorporated is looking for charity partners for this summer’s Downtown Sundown concert series.
The Charity Wristband Program splits profits from wristband sales between WDI and participating charities. Wristbands are sold to people 21 and up who want to enjoy beer and wine during the show. Last year, $8,000 were donated to local nonprofits through the program and over 26,000 people attended the concerts.
Nine charitable organizations will be voted on through Facebook. The remaining organizations will be picked by a review committee based on their mission and community impact.
Applications can be submitted to WDI through their website or dowloading this application. Completed applications are due by February 24 and can be sent to office@wilmingtondowntown.com or mailed to PO Box 2235, Wilmington, NC 28402 or delivered to 221 N. Front Street, Suite 102.
The concerts are 6:30-10:30 p.m. each Friday from May 26 through September 1. The free concerts feature local and touring performers.
